Studio Boy was born Damian Obinna Agbo, a native of Ohaukwu L.G.A of Ebonyi State, Nigeria.
He is the last child of a family of 7. Tragedy struck early when he lost his dad in 2004, he moved on with life with the help of his mother who assisted him all through his growing up.
His early education was in Gods own kiddies nur/pry school and Celestial Church Of Christ Grammar School Ondo State where he had his High school education.
He started making beats and recording himself since recording songs since 2010 until 2018 when everything started professionally for him
The name Studio Boy has been on since 2010 as he was named by late Kolawole Oluwaseun AKA O’Eazee who he sees as one of his mentor and motivator
After discovering his love for music, he dived fully into writing and recording songs as an independent artist while working very hard to become an artist to be reckoned with. The journey was rough and difficult as all efforts to make music seemed impossible because of lack of funds and support.
After long years of pushing through alone in the music industry, Studio Boy’s vocal caught the attention of a close friend and he was introduced to DYH Crew with a debut song titled “The Code”. Thereafter, he got signed to DYH Records Label named after DYH Crew founded by Paul Samson (The Oracle PSO).
Studio Boy versatility operates across different genres, blending elements from Afro Pop, High life, dance hall and R&B.
Studio Boy has a diverse set of musical influences from both legends and mainstream acts such as Fela Kuti, 2face Idibia,Wizkid. and late O’Eazee
Studio Boy sees art as a tool to communicate, inspire and express his inner feelings through music.
